European Union

The Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) is the key tool of the European Commission’s pre-accession assistance strategy for the 2007-2013 period and beyond. The purpose of IPA is to support countries in their transition from potential candidates to candidate countries and through to membership of the European Union. IPA will help these countries meet the Accession Criteria (fulfil the political, economic and acquis-related criteria for membership, building up their administrative and judicial capacity) and prepare for the programming, management and implementation of EU Cohesion, Structural and Rural development Funds after accession.
Macedonia's implementation of the IPA program started in 2007. The next programming period 2014-2020 brings changes and more flexible use of funds. What is of paramount importance in the programming of funds for the next programming period, and there is a need the Government of the Republic of Macedonia to really accept NGOs as partners in programming and to enable effective and genuine process of involving organizations and the public. Eco-sense and partner organizations will work on the effective involvement of civil society in programming, shaping the views and proposals for funding from European funds and creating sustainable development programs which contribute to environmental protection in Macedonia.
