Description: The “Mavrovo” National Park (NP) is a protected area since 1949 when the Assembly of the National Republic of Macedonia declared the forests around the Mavrovo field a national park. With the alterations to the Law for Establishment of the National Park from 3 July 1952 the territory of the protected area has increased 6 times, from 11 750 hectares to 73 088 hectares. According to the Law for Nature Protection (2004) there is a legal obligation for re-proclamation of the “Mavrovo” National Park as protected area. The process consists of the following phases: conduction of a valorisation or revalorisation study of the protected area, preparation of management plan for the protected area, public discussion and (re)proclamation of the protected area by the law.

Опис: Националниот Парк „Маврово” e заштитено подрачје уште од 1949 година, кога Народното Собрание на НР Македонија ги прогласи шумските предели околу Мавровско поле за Национален Парк. Со измените на Законот за основање на Националниот Парк од 03.07.1952 територијата на заштитеното подрачје се зголеми за 6 пати, односно од 11.750 хектари на 73.088 хектари. Согласно Законот за заштита на природата (2004 година) постои законска обврска за репрогласување за заштитеното подрачје Национален парк „Маврово“. Самиот процес се состои од следниве фази: изработка на Студија за валоризација или ревалоризација на заштитено подрачје, изработка на план за управување со заштитеното подрачје, јавна расправа и (ре) прогласување на заштитено подрачје со закон.

Description: The aim of this analysis is to give an overview of three national strategies and to find whether these strategies have properly addressed climate change issues. The three reviewed strategies are the energy strategy, the transport strategy and the biodiversity strategy of the Republic of Macedonia. The analysis reflects the views of several civil society organisations from Macedonia about the need for including concrete measures for climate change adaptation and mitigation into national strategies. It is intended to present these views to national decision makers, as well as to the general public.

Опис: Оваа анализа на состојбата со стратегиите на национално ниво има цел да направи преглед на националните стратегии и да ги идентификува оние кои се занимаваат, односно содржат поглавја за климатските промени, како и да ги пренесе ставовите на граѓанскиот сектор односно да им укаже на донесувачите на одлуки, но и на пошироката јавност, на потребата од вклучување на конкретни мерки за адаптацијатa и ублажувањето на климатските промени.

Опис: Public participation is an essential element that enables citizens to reaffirm the right to a healthy environment in practice, and at the same time to fulfill their duty to protect the environment. Decision makers also enjoy benefits from the public participation, since this process provides additional information, which increases the likelihood that the decision will not have a detrimental impact on the environment and it will be more easily accepted by the general public.
